Children and adolescents face unique developmental, social, behavioral and emotional challenges. Northside Psychiatric Services can assist you, your child and family in addressing these challenges. In fact, our specialized children’s staff treat over 2,000 children every year and are committed to providing the best treatment for your child.

Northside Psychiatric Services Care offers a full array of behavioral health and counseling services for children and adolescents, and we can help you if your child has an issue and you don’t know where else to turn. Our services include Individual and Family Therapy, Group Family Programs (BRAG Program), Case Management, Psychiatric/Medication Services, Intensive Home and School Based Therapy Services and Crisis Services.

Northside Psychiatric Services’s professional staff uses effective treatment and intervention methods to help ensure the healthy emotional and social development of your child. Our children’s therapists work with families in Charlotte County and outlying areas to develop individualized treatment plans that specifically target:

  • Improved behavior at home and school.
  • Decreased emotional symptoms.
  • Decreased family conflict
  • Development of healthy coping skills
  • More effective parenting skills

We offer Individual and family therapy to address issues such as depression, anxiety, bullying, peer pressure, blended families, grief, divorce, abuse, ADHD, self injurious behaviors, defiant behaviors and issues related to life changes.

Children’s Specialty Services provided:

We offer BRAG group to allow families to focus on the strengths a child and parent has rather than just focusing on what’s wrong. BRAG is an evidence based, strength based program that allows children and parents their own group for support and to learn new ways of dealing with stressors and behaviors. - BRAG is a group therapy program designed specially for children and their parents. This is a nationally recognized parenting and family strengthening program. Brag is an evidence-based family skills training program found to significantly reduce problem behaviors, delinquency and substance abuse in children, and to improve social skills and school performance. Through participation, parents can strengthen bonds with their children and learn more effective parenting skills while their children learn healthy coping skills.

We offer psychiatric services when medication would be helpful in reducing symptoms related to mental health issues.
